So Smart

Yesterday Jay and Kami and me were all sitting outside enjoying the warm weather, and Kami was running around. Jay said, "Kami, are you excited for your new little sister?" And she yelled, "YEAH!" Jay asked her, "Where is your little sister?" And she ran up to me and pointed to my belly and said, "Right there!" And put her mouth up to my belly and said something I couldn't understand, then ran off again. We were both a little bit shocked because she hasn't shown us that she understands before, so Jay had her come and sit between us, and asked again, "Kameryn, where is your little sister?" "Right there." She said, and pointed to my belly again. I really can't underestimate her anymore. She knows what's going on.

First Steps

Kami took her first steps today on two different occasions. I know I should be really excited, and I am, but I also feel bad because Jay didn't see them either time. They were completely unprovoked. We've been trying to coax them out of her in the typical way, trying to get her to walk back and forth between us, but she refused. Then this afternoon she was holding her toys and I think she figured it would be easier to walk with them than get down and crawl. So she took a couple steps before she fell.
It was the same story later on tonight, except Jay had already gone in to bed. Same situation: Her hands were full with Quackers and her Glow worm and it just seemed an easier way to get around.
Seeing such a huge advancement being done in such a casual way makes me realize how fast she's growing up. I'm so grateful to have her around and to have such a healthy, happy baby.
Now all I want is for her to walk tomorrow while her dad can watch.
