I called today to add Reagan to our insurance. I know I was procrastinating a bit, but I was worried about how much more they would take out of my check every two weeks, because right now they take out a fairly large amount and I only have me and Kami on our insurance, not Jay. When I called this morning I found out you're supposed to add the baby to your insurance within 30 days. Opps. So anyone else that didn't already know that, take note. 30 days.
And now that she's said that, I think I do vaguely remember them telling me that in the hospital. After a full night of Reagan crying, me running on 2 hours sleep, worrying about breast feeding, wanting to go home and get out of the oddly-fitting hospital gowns, adjusting to having 2 kids and racking my brain trying to remember how to take care of a newborn.
For one reason or another, I didn't remember.
So anyway, I didn't add her to our insurance after 30 days. And my insurances normal open enrollment period has ended. So she says, "Do you have any other dependants on your policy?" And I say, "Yeah, me and my older daughter, Kameryn." To which she responds, "Oh, good! Since you already have a dependant your premiums won't change at all. I'll send you the form."
The premiums won't change AT ALL?! Are you serious?
So naturally I'm thinking I should have some more kids, so I can add them to my insurance. If I'm paying the same amount either way that makes the most financial sense, right?!

30 days...good to know. I've sort of forgotten about that. I keep reminding Caleb to figure that out all, but uh...I don't think it's on his radar either.
Your so funny.
Yeah, Kjersti. Start poppin' em out like a Pez despenser.
;)
Maybe once I start having kids, we can add THEM to YOUR insurance too! That'd be great for me, since I don't have any dependents, and don't want my rates to go up, and you already have some, so your rates won't go up either!
I love this plan. I'm excited to be a part of it.
